This course will introduce you to the theory and practice of natural burial (aka green burial, forest burial, conservation burial, etc.).
Session one contains an introduction to natural burial, including history, industry standards, and environmental impacts, especially compared with other disposition methods.
Session two provides an overview of Oregon's legal requirements for defining final disposition, and guides attendees through a checklist of what to consider, things to do, and documents to gather. We will also discuss "what to expect" at a natural burial.
Session three involves a field trip to Ashland's two local natural burial options: The Forest Conservation Burial Grounds and Cathedral Trees Sanctuary.
